“Biodiversity for Sustainable Agriculture”
Thursday 11 June 2020, 9:00 – 17:00
Kirstenbosch Gardens, Cape Town, South Africa
Agricultural biodiversity includes all the components of biological diversity of relevance to food and agriculture together with the components of biological diversity that constitute the agroecosystem: the variety and variability of animals. ‘Agriculture’ comprises all aspects of crop and livestock farming, fisheries, aquaculture and forestry. This diversity has been shaped by mankind for millennia and remains essential for the survival of future generations.
Biodiversity is a fundamental component of agriculture and for the Thematic day we would like to provide insights on biodiversity research and conservation, address key questions on an integrated approach to sustainability across agriculture and share visions on the responsibility of all actors to contribute together.
Registration fee: EUR 95.-
More information will be available at a later stage.
